Karini: V-ROCK FESTIVAL 2009

Japan's V-Rock Festival has been on for about two hours now
currently preforming is Kra

It's definitely an almost surreal feeling knowing that this show is going on live in Japan

I can't wait to see the other bands, so far I was pretty impressed with
Awoi
Bounty
SuG

Kra has a very eclectic sound
very jazzy vibe at one point then the singer voice begins to growl and then returns to singing in almost a whispered tone
crazy combo

Karini: Miyavi's US Tour Canceled

Much to my disbelief I won't be going to see Miyavi tomorrow at New People Mall in San Francisco for a mini live and autograph session :(

After playing a show last night in Mexico he announced today that the US leg of his tour would be postponed until further. The reason has been attributed to many things including illness, injury, problems getting into the US, to problems with bookings at Venues

In my opinion, sales for tickets were probably not what they were hoping for.

It's unfortunate that so many things had to go wrong all at once, I was really looking forward the opportunity for a meet and greet.

Karini: Upcoming Releases

The latest J-Rock videos I'm been watching

I've been waiting and waiting for the LM.C to release something following Punky Heart and Chemical King Twoon that would live up the the more emotional sound of 88.
In my opinion Ghost Heart delivers

Netta: GLAY 09.09.09

omg it was AMAZING
Glay played at the Fillmore in San Francisco yesterday. It's about 2 hours from my house so we kinda got a late start my sister likes to start standing in line earlier lol. But we started standing in line around 5-ish. But we didn't know it at the time but we were going to get to see the show from the front row, right against the barrier in front of Takuro *_*
I've only been front row for Dir en grey and Vamps (LA) so it was a surprise to me, we have these really nice girls to thank, they met up with the rest of their group and let us take their spots.
The Filmore is such a beautiful venue they have these pretty chandeliers and it's just got a history you can feel.
They rocked omg.
I hope I'll have more to say later today
haha I'm uber tried right now haha.
I have pictures not from the show but before and around the venue hopefully I can get them off my phone and onto here.

Karini: Hakuei(Penicillin)&Black Peace Now -

So today was the day I went to Japan Town for a meet and greet with Hakuei and get his autograph

I had gotten a hold of an invite to the After Party at Yoshi's Sake Lounge for later that same day

The signing session was fun, the party was AMAZING! The place was gorgeous and I got to take a picture with Hakuei! Which was my goal since I found out about this event

So a few mins ago I was checking Hakuei's blog, to see if he had posted anything about being in San Francisco

and to my surprise there I am getting my picture taken on his blog... hilarious!
this is defiantly a first!
Photobucket

we were sitting a little bit off to the side of the rest of the party, and sitting near us was the CEO of Black Peace Now, he was very nice
he kept offering to take pictures of me and Avie, when Hakuei first walked by we tried to get his attention to ask him if we could take a picture, Mr. CEO got up and went and got Hakuei for us

The translator and Hakuei stopped by near the end and she said we could ask him some questions if we wanted, I asked her to tell him that I liked his shirt

he said a lot of people were saying that xD
then Avie asked how long he was in San Francisco for he said just til the day after tomorrow but
that is when he mentioned that he would be having a concert in the US next year, I was so excited

the translator asked me if I was nervous, the answer was obviously yes I said that Hakuei was my favorite musician and that I had even had my hair cut to look like his, I showed him my psp because the background image was from an old machine photoshoot he said 'oh a psp' then when he noticed it was his picture he laughed

it was a really fun event

Karini- Vamps US Tour -LA & SF

This last month has been kind of crazy I ended up going to the Vamps show in LA and the one in San Francisco
I decided to go to the one in SF the night before the signing session at Kinokuniya
at the show at the Wiltern we ended up being front of the pit
We were up against the barrier in front of KAZ it was amazing, that same night the tickets for Glay's second show at the Fillmore went on sale so as soon as I drove the 5 hours home from LA I bought Glay tickets

Karini: Distraught Overload

Lately I've been on vacation in Palm Springs, it's amazing that you can drive six hours away from home and it be such a world of difference. Today the weather is slightly cloudy and it smells like rain

I love that it is so much warmer here compared to back home in Northern California

Yesterday I read an article about the Visual kei band Dio- Distraught Overlord-
Turns out they have announced plans to tour here in the US, sometime this summer

I must admit I've never paid much attention to Dio-Distraught Overlord-, but with the lack of concerts lately it sounds tempting to give them a try if they do come to the US

their sound reminds me of a mix between Hyde's solo work and Despair's Ray
to be honest I was looking for a band like Dio, I'm a sucker for strong vocals and I really liked their GOD FORSAKEN pv
I'm looking forward to seeing what they put out in the months before their US tour

and long as they keep heading in their current direction I think I'll defiantly be among the crowd at their stateside show
